A walk round the lake together
Lake Créteil and its tree-lined banks form a vast leisure area of around sixty hectares. Walking or cycling round the lake makes for a relaxed first date: you go at your own pace, stop on a bench and watch the sailing boats. In fine weather, the leisure centre also offers water sports, although swimming is not allowed.
Les Choux, the town’s icons
You cannot miss the Choux, the round towers designed by architect Gérard Grandval in the 1970s, whose curved balconies look like cabbage leaves. Nearby stand the V-shaped Val-de-Marne Prefecture and the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Créteil, a new landmark with its shell formed of two spheres. Plenty to fuel conversations about architecture.
An evening at the House of Arts
On Place Salvador-Allende, recognisable by its wave-shaped paving, the House of Arts and Culture, a national stage founded at the initiative of André Malraux, offers theatre, dance and concerts. A lovely idea for a second date, followed by a drink to share your impressions. On Lyad, members from Créteil share their outings; it is up to you to find someone to enjoy them with.
